FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Why do I need a wedding planner?
On average, it takes 250 hours to plan a wedding… I know, it’s a LOT! So it goes without saying that hiring me will save you a lot of time. But something just as valuable in my opinion is that I’ll make the process enjoyable and stress free. I can help with the organisational side of things, the creative design side, the admin, or all of the above, take a look at what I can help you with here. I can take ownership of the jobs you’d rather not do and guide you through every step of the planning process. When you consider that you’ll probably be planning for at least a year, I think it’s pretty important that you’re not stressed out or overwhelmed the whole time. Even better, imagine actually having fun with it?! The focus is very much on the ‘big day’ so it’s easy to overlook what an incredible experience planning it together can be!
  • What will working with a wedding planner entail?
My approach very much revolves around you. I’ll start by getting to know you as a couple. I’ll take the time to find out your likes and dislikes, your personality and passions, so that I can get a feel of what works for you and your style . For a full service planning package, I’ll start by searching for your perfect venue. Whether that be a manor house, stately home, or barn, I will put together a shortlist of the venues I think suit you. Once the venue is confirmed, I’ll create mood boards and look-books containing all the things that bring a wedding to life and makes it unique to you. From colour palettes to décor and styling, we will use this to create your brief which we can show to suppliers to start making your dream a reality. I’ll be with you every step of the way. In advance of the day, I’ll be creating schedules, timelines, liaising with the suppliers, keeping the planning on track. On the day, I’ll be there to manage everything: from set up to co-ordinating suppliers, I’ll ensure everything runs smoothly so that you can savour your vision as it comes together in front of your eyes. For all my other packages, I treat them with as much importance, time and love. Virtual Planning allows couples to have full autonomy over the planning process (as some couples love this as much as me!) but I'm there as you're helping hand with check in calls and advice where needed.
  • What happens on the wedding day itself?
The most important thing is that you enjoy your day and that’s what all my energy goes towards! If you go with a planning package (except virtual) or on the day coordination, I’ll take care of everything as agreed - organising the set up, ensuring all the details are in the correct place, and making sure everything runs to schedule. I’ll also co-ordinate suppliers and answer any questions they might have. So whether it’s ensuring guests are in the right place, helping the photographer with organising photos or ensuring you two get a moment to yourself to breathe, I’ll be there to help facilitate it. For my styling and set up packages I'm there in the morning to ensure everything is set up as perfectly as you had dreamt it to be and then hand over to most likely a venue designated coordinator unless you add on an on the day coordination package.
  • How many weddings do you take on each year?
To provide you with a dedicated, highly personal service, I take on just a limited number of full service weddings each year - it’s worth getting in touch as soon as you possible if you’d like to work with me. This does however allow me capacity to take on further bookings on a smaller scale (for example, Wedding Coordination, or Styling and Set Up only). I commit to only booking one ‘attended’ wedding per weekend, to ensure my complete attention to each couple’s wedding day.
  • Will you be there on our wedding day?
Absolutely! It is why I do what I do and is my favourite part; bringing it all to life on the day and ensuring everything runs to plan! *Some packages I offer, e.g. virtual wedding planning support does not include for me to be there on the day due to the nature of the package. For styling & set up packages I will absolutely be there during the set up process but not for the entire day.
  • I'm not sure which package would suit us best?!
Do not worry! I always offer a complimentary consultation to discover the best services to suit your needs - simply head over to my contact page to get in touch and get the ball rolling!
  • What areas do you work?
The main areas I work are in Bristol, Bath (I got married in Bath & it's my absolute favourite UK city!), Somerset, Gloucestershire, and Wiltshire, however on occasion I am happy to travel further afield within the U.K.
  • What types of weddings do you do?
The easiest answer to give without producing a long list of everything, is quite simply any 'type' of wedding and I love working with all the wonderfully different and diverse clients I have. That being said, if for whatever reason you feel like I'm not for you that's entirely the point of our initial call and proposal I send through to you after, to see if we would work well together. I will never be offended and it's so important to establish that at the beginning of the process.
  • When do you work/when are you available to chat?
The 'official' answer is office hours are 9-8ish every day in some way shape or form. The reality is, I'm pretty much always available - unless I'm in the middle of a Wedding! Emails & WhatsApp is the best method of communication in the event I can't take a call immediately - but I always endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible and never more than 24 hours later. Consultations and meetings can be arranged at any time dependent on availability, I always try to be as flexible as possible.
  • Is travel included within your fee?
Yes, travel costs and accommodation (when required due to distance) are always accounted for within all quotes we provide so you know exactly where you are with costs. I pride myself on 'no hidden costs' and am as transparent as possible always with fees.
  • How does payment work?
I like to keep it as simple as possible, a bespoke quote and fee proposal is produced for each and every couple but generally speaking; - For Full and partial Wedding Planning, I offer the ability for any payment due to be made over 4 instalments (30% payable upon signing of the proposal which secures your date and my services, 25% at two agreed points between signing the contract and the date of the wedding, and the remaining 20% due one month before the wedding itself). - For all styling and set up services, a 30% deposit is required upon signing the proposal, with the remainder payable 8 weeks prior to the wedding date. - For a virtual planning and support package, 100% of the fee is due upfront prior to access to the software, given the nature of the package and software.
  • Do you have insurance?
Yes, we are fully covered by public liability insurance. Please be aware however that this doesn't negate the need for your own wedding insurance to cover you in the event of unforeseen personal circumstances (for example accident, illness or bereavement), and it does not indemnify any other contracted suppliers.
  • Do you take commission from suppliers and/or have recommended suppliers?
In short, no. I never take any commission from any suppliers and whilst I can advise you of my personal experiences with suppliers I have used in the past I don't have 'recommended' suppliers either. Every wedding is unique and as such I take a fresh approach to each couple I work with to find the best suppliers for them. I also LOVE discovering new, unique, exciting suppliers too!
  • We are discreet and want to keep our wedding off your socials and the internet - can you accommodate this?
Without a doubt! We have worked with several couples that have requested a high level of discretion for numerous reasons and we're more than happy to accommodate this. Whilst we’d love to share the incredible weddings we have helped create, we completely appreciate ANY couple's request and/or requirement for discretion, we simply ask you advise us and we will adjust what we share accordingly. We also have experience working with couples who feel the need and requirement for NDA's and security requirements, along with managing this requirement down to suppliers and also are happy to abide by any press exclusivity clauses where applicable.
  • How can I find out more?
If you’re interested in my services, I'd recommend taking a look on our Services page to see what we offer and then please do get in touch to confirm next steps and arrange a complimentary discovery call to discuss your day and how I can best help you. Following the call, I’ll create a bespoke proposal which will contain details of my service tailored to your needs and pricing and hopefully we can then continue to work together to create the most incredible experience for you both.
